In Watson a year after the death of his friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty, Dr. John Watson resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. Watson's old life isn't done with him, though — Moriarty and Watson are set to write their own chapter of a story that has fascinated audiences for more than a century. So what has any year got to do with it? Why the hell do these scriptwriters have to ram ethnic diversity or sexual orientation down our throats (or up anywhere else for that matter)? For example, the new Doctor Who. The lady version was acceptable, but why does he have to be a black, gay person who spends the whole show grinning like a simpleton. Maybe if the writers concentrated on writing a good story and/or script, instead of concentrating on including every type of diverse people, maybe they may do a little better.
