Peter Mark Kendall is an American actor and musician with a career in stage, film and television.
He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and grew up in Towson, a suburb outside of the city. His parents emigrated with his three older siblings from South Africa in 1985. Kendall attended McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College), where he received a BA in Theatre and Jazz Studies. In 2013 he received his MFA in Acting from the Brown University/Trinity Rep Program.
Kendall is best known for playing Hans in FX's The Americans (2015–2017), Joey Thomas in NBC's Chicago Med (2016–2018), Richard Onsted in CBS All Access's Strange Angel (2018–2019), Stan Loomis in Netflix's Kaleidoscope (2023), and Dr. Stephens Croft & Dr. Adam Croft in CBS's Watson (2025).
Kendall's acting career began in 2014 after he obtained the role of Tom Henney in the television series The Leftovers. Other television appearances include Girls (2015), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2015), Eye Candy (2015), Public Morals (2015), Gotham (2016), The Good Fight (2017), Blue Bloods (2017), Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens (2020), and Evil (2024).
Kendall's film debut was in 2014 playing Connor in Time Out of Mind. Other film appearances include Seven Lovers (2014), Louder Than Bombs (2015), The Ticket (2016), Ruok (2018), The Rest of Us (2018), Entangled (2019), The Scottish Play (2020), and Top Gun: Maverick (2022).
Kendall has starred on Broadway in the Tony-nominated revival of Six Degrees of Separation with Allison Janney, off-Broadway in Samuel D. Hunter's The Harvest at Lincoln Center, Mercury Fur at The New Group, and acted opposite Patti LuPone in The Rose Tattoo at the Samuel Friedman Theater.
Kendall is an accomplished musician and has created music for Hickory Collective, which composes music for film, ads, and podcasts.
Kendall has been married to actress Helen Cespedes since 2016. They live in Manhattan, New York.
