What a nice little crossover episode. I did not expect that.

lmao, how am I a "bot"? And it literally is considered official Star Trek canon and multiple past show's stars have voiced their same characters in it, including Tom Paris and Riker. You denying well-known facts doesn't make it not true. Stop being an idiot.

Great crossover, time travel and very funny. Luckily the voice actors look like their animated counterparts and with costumes are able to play the live action version themselves

Great episode. Great commitment in even animating the opening credits. And it looks like the cast had a blast. But it confirms what I've long suspected: Lower Decks looks really stupid and annoying. I've never watched it, but this small dose should be enough for a long time.

I thought the same thing, then I started watching LD. I dropped it a few seconds into credits, after Mariner cut Boimler with a bat'leth. The Mariner character felt really stupid and annoying. She was defying the whole idea of Star Trek crew and it's mission. It seemed like blasphemy.

And then out of boredom and have nothing to watch I decided to power through. I changed my mind pretty quickly. It's not sitcom driven. It's about important stories of seemingly not important crew members. Their adventures. There's sometimes irony in the portraying of archetypes of a main crew's story line. But all in all it's the same Star Trek, adventure stories and spirit of humanity. And Mariner is no exception, no mater how she presents on surface, she is Starfleet devoted.

And maybe it's really not for you, but this small portion of LD is not representative enough of the core of this show.

this was an ok Episode but i really hate the Animated content, its not Star Trek Canon... keep it Live Action! the LA part was the best the Animated was the worse part.. ruined the whole immersion into this episode..

No I haven't. I could guess by the way the characters were drawn in artwork for the show what the general tone was likely to be, so I gave it a pass. Now that I've seen those characters in Strange New Worlds, it seems my initial "assumption" was correct. But that's OK. There are way too many shows for anyone to watch everything. My "assumptions" only affect the shows I choose to watch. If you really like LD, go ahead and watch it. I'll be watching shows I do like instead. There's no crime in having different tastes.

Right. You think it's Rick and Morty. It's not.

Nope. I've been watching Those Old Scientists since they were young scientists during their first run, and while I like the odd episode with tribbles or Harry Mudd in them as comic relief, and enjoyed this one, I generally hate sitcoms. Everyone tries too hard to be zany and quippy all the time. It's not that I don't have a sense of humour - it's that I get tired of TV sitcom humour very quickly. Even when there isn't a laugh track, I always feel like they're trying to force humour when it isn't really there. The end result is shallow and stupid sounding characters that I don't like spending a lot of time with.
