Last Man Standing - Episode Guide

Mike plays Cupid for Mandy by setting her up on a blind-date with Kyle, one of his employees who he thinks would be the perfect guy for her. But Mike's set-up gets off track when Kyle accidentally meets Kristin. Meanwhile at work, Mike's long-time boss and friend, Ed, announces that he's grounding Mike from their catalogue's international photo shoots and putting him in charge of the company's webpage. In this new role, Mike discovers that the Internet might actually provide him just the outlet he needs, a platform that gives him a voice to appeal to those who agree that manliness is under assault, and a pulpit for his opinions about feeling like the last real man in a woman's world.

Mike is outnumbered by his wife and daughters when they all agree that baby proofing the house is a good idea. But soon Vanessa has second thoughts when she finds herself home by herself babysitting Boyd and can't release the toilet seat's complicated childproof latch. Meanwhile, Mike thinks it's time for Mandy to earn her own money and gets her a job delivering pizzas -- without first consulting Vanessa.

When Vanessa forces a reluctant Mike to attend Grandparents Day at their grandson Boyd's preschool, Mike manages to insult the daycare teacher and Boyd gets kicked out of school. Boyd's mom, Kristin, tells Mike that he now has to look after him, so Mike takes the two-year-old to work with him. Meanwhile, after an elderly looking grandmother at the Grandparents Day event thinks she and Vanessa are the same age, Vanessa goes out of her way to look more youthful -- hoping no one sees her buying clothes from a boutique with her 17-year-old daughter.

Mike feels let down when his daughters aren't into celebrating Halloween with him the way they used to. He decides that his two-year-old grandson, Boyd, can be his perfect trick or treat partner. But Kristin, Boyd's mother, adamantly tells him that she doesn't want her son to go out on Halloween. Mike sneaks him out -- with a plan to get the child home before Kristin gets back from work. When Mike, dressed as John Wayne from "The Green Berets," gets to Ed's house with Boyd, they are greeted at the door by Ed's lady friend, Elvira.

The Outdoor Man's softball team holds a vote to decide if they will go coed; Kristin thinks about her own future as she helps Mandy fill out college applications.

Vanessa asks Mike to be the one who says "no" to Mandy when she wants to try out for a modeling show, since he usually says "yes" to his daughters for everything. Ed has issues with Mike making too many business decisions.

After a neighbor's home is broken into, Vanessa puts together a neighborhood watch program; Mike finds himself in trouble after getting caught up in some gossip.

But when the car's original owner, Joe (guest star Jay Leno), keeps showing up with spare parts and unwanted advice, Mike drops some not-so-subtle hints that he can do without Joe's help. Meanwhile, Mandy is mad when Vanessa allows Eve to go to a music festival - when she was never allowed to when she was growing up.

On Halloween, Mike and Chuck decide to spend the evening watching football instead of passing out candy with their wives. But when Vanessa and Carol start pranking them, the competition is on to see who can out-prank who. Kyle dresses up like his hero, Ed, but Ed has a surprising response to Kyle's imitation of him.

Kristin is surprised that Mike is treating her more like a dad than her boss when she tells him she wants to oversee the opening of the next Outdoor Man Grill restaurant. Meanwhile, Mandy and Kyle hope Ed will want their help in rekindling his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Wendi.

When Mike realizes all the things a stressed-out Vanessa does to get ready for Christmas, he delegates the family to take on decorating the tree, writing the family newsletter and putting up the church Nativity scene.

When Mike and Vanessa need a sure winner on their annual college alumnae 5k race teams, they go to extreme measures to see who will win over Eve. Meanwhile, Kristin senses work might get tricky when Ed hires his girlfriend, Wendi, to be the new hostess at The Outdoor Man Grill.

To snap Eve out of her funk of not getting into West Point Academy, Mike hopes that taking her to Outdoor Man will show her different career options. But both Mike and Vanessa are taken aback by the unexpected influence that car mechanic Joe has on her. Meanwhile, Mandy makes Kristin feel like they no longer have anything in common.

When Ed asks Kyle to secretly take an engagement ring to get fitted, Mike spots him with it. Now, he and Vanessa think Kyle is going to propose to Mandy.

Mike has convinced Kristin and Ryan to buy a home instead of renting an apartment. But when he finds the ideal place for them, Ryan surprises everyone with a change of heart and backs out of the idea. Meanwhile, Mandy doesn't want Eve in the basement, which doubles as her work space, but Kyle defends her right to be there.

When Eve and her friend Cammy form a new band, they sound so horrible that Mike comes up with an idea to break them up, but his plan has unexpected results. Meanwhile, Kyle and Mandy babysit Boyd.

Mike is anxious to buy the miniature tank collection once belonging to the late husband of his neighbor, Helen Potts. But when he discovers Helen already sold the collection, he goes to extremes to make the collection his own. Meanwhile, Kristin and Ed are concerned when a mysterious "Bubba X" posts a scathing review about their dining experience at the Outdoor Man Restaurant.

Mike builds a shed for Vanessa in the yard after she takes over too much space in the house. Elsewhere, Kyle must deal with disappointment when Kristin is named Employee of the Month at Outdoor Man.

Mike meets with famous rock climber, and former girlfriend, Billie Cassidy (Reba McEntire), to persuade the Outdoor Man to sell her line of climbing gear. Billie agrees to the deal but Mike is wary of her one condition: that he has to go on the promotional campaign trip with her. Meanwhile, Mandy helps Kristen and Ryan sell their old possessions.

Vanessa hopes getting a tattoo will change the current status she has with her three daughters from mother/daughter to the friend/friend level. Meanwhile, Ryan gets camping lessons from Kyle.

When Mike finds out future son-in-law Kyle fears meeting with the church's new minister (guest star Bill Engvall), Mike tells Kyle to use him and Vanessa as a strong marriage example. But a recent argument ends up sending them to the minister instead. Meanwhile, Ryan helps Eve with her assignment to debate from the opposite side of her politically conservative beliefs.

In honor of Mike's 25 years at The Outdoor Man, Ed plans a surprise dinner for him and asks Joe and Chuck to come up with the after-dinner speech. Also, Mandy decides that in order for her and Kyle to save money, they should move in with her parents after they're married.

Mike arrives for work at Outdoor Man to discover Kyle feeding stray cats off the warehouse's loading dock and quickly puts a stop to it. Meanwhile, Kristin has been working so hard preparing to host her very first brunch at the Outdoor Man Grill that husband Ryan has been feeling neglected. Later on, while watching the security camera feed, Chuck and Mike notice that Kyle left the loading dock door open, and after a closer look, they spot a surprising intruder – a giant bear. Mike now has to find a way to get the bear out of Outdoor Man and keep his family safe.

When a Jack and Jill wedding shower for Mandy and Kyle is announced, Mike is disappointed to learn it's on the same day as the big Broncos-Chargers game. In an effort to catch the game with Joe and the guys, Mike convinces the couple to hold separate showers. Ryan offers to host the men's festivities at his place, and to Mike's dismay, he's more into party planning than anyone would have thought. Meanwhile, Ed's convinced that sticking to his superstitious rituals is the only way to see to it that the Broncos pull out a big win, even if it means interfering with Mandy's wedding shower.

Mandy takes a new interest in vaping, and while disappointing to her parents, it also sparks memories of Vanessa's old smoking habits. As Vanessa and fellow teacher Sheryl commiserate in their stress of the looming teacher's strike, Ryan and Kristin discover a secret safe in their basement. Later on, Mike finds out that Vanessa has been secretly smoking and must find a way to gently confront her.

Boyd is turning 10 years old, and sticking with the Baxter family tradition, Mike wants nothing more than to give him a shotgun and take him hunting. Kristin is all for it but Ryan has no interest in his son having a gun or harming animals. Meanwhile Kyle and Mandy's wedding preparations continue as Vanessa tries to convince Kyle to do a mother-son dance with her,

It's Halloween and the Baxter family is excited for their annual party, except for Mike who's reluctantly tasked with choosing the theme. In hopes of turning everyone against the holiday, Mike decides that maybe if the whole family has to dress up like each other they'll end up making fun of one another. Eve dresses up like Mandy and Mandy dresses down like Eve, Kristin and Ryan swap roles, and Mike shows up to the party as... Donald Trump!?

Having a difficult time supporting Eve's gap year, Mike gives her a hard lesson on surviving in the real world, but Eve's unexpected reaction throws Mike for a loop. Meanwhile, Kyle wants to give Mandy the best wedding gift imaginable, so taking inspiration from a story he read online, he works on turning a laser pointer into a car by way of some old-fashioned bartering.

As the big day approaches, Mandy has turned into a full-blown bridezilla. She fires her wedding planner, puts her whole family to work and refuses to let Kyle wear sneakers with his suit. Tired of Mandy's behavior, Ed opts out of the festivities all together, leaving Mandy to re-cast the role of Kyle's best man.

Mike is determined to get Chuck to sell him a car recently left to him by his late father, but Joe might beat him to the punch. At the Baxter home, Kyle shows up with a family Thanksgiving heirloom, and Vanessa doesn't even try to hide her distaste for the hideous centerpiece. Meanwhile, Kristin and Ryan are forced to lay down some house rules after learning that Eve's new boyfriend stayed overnight in their basement.

Mandy chooses local-celebrity Mike as the speaker for her business school's graduation. After learning that the school requires his speech to be PC and micro-agression free, Mike decides whether or not to play by the rules. Meanwhile, Eve's friend Cammy (Sarah Gilman) is home from college, bragging about how fantastic her new life has been, leaving Eve feeling slightly fruitless and discouraged.

Since losing her teaching job, Vanessa has been spending her time hovering over the family, and it's driving everyone nuts. Over at Kristin and Ryan's house, Ryan and Kyle are wrapped-up in a zombie face-off to determine who knows the most about zombies and how to survive an apocalypse. Unable to land a new gig, Vanessa becomes discouraged, but Mike does everything he can to get her back doing what she loves.

It's Christmas dinner at The Baxters, and the time has finally come for Eve to introduce her new boyfriend, Rob (Travis Tope), to her dad, Mike, and the rest of the clan. After learning about a secret Rob's been keeping, Mike questions whether or not he approves of this guy for his daughter.
