UNFORGOTTEN RECOMMISSIONED FOLLOWING CRITICAL ACCLAIM AND AUDIENCE REACTION ***First episode of the new series peaks at 7.4 million viewers making it the second highest performing drama of the last year across all channels on 14-day viewing*** ITV1 and ITVX's critically acclaimed drama Unforgotten has been recommissioned for a seventh series following the success of series six.

The hugely successful and critically acclaimed drama, created and written by multi-award-winning screenwriter Chris Lang, and starring Sinéad Keenan and Sanjeev Bhaskar, returns for its sixth series on Sunday, 9 February, at 9:00 pm on ITV1 and STV. The second episode will air on Monday, 10 February, at 9:00 pm on ITV1 and STV. The new series will also be available on ITVX and STV Player from Sunday, February 9. Series 1-5 are available to stream on both services.

'Unforgotten' remains front of mind for ITV. The Mainstreet Productions cop drama has been renewed for a sixth series, with Sanjeev Bhaskar and Sinéad Keenan reprising their roles as DI Sunil 'Sunny' Khan and DCI Jess James. Series 6 will run to six episodes, written by Chris Lang, who is known for shows such as 'Innocent', 'Dark Heart' and the recently BAFTA-nominated ITV drama 'The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe'. Further casting for the series will be announced when it goes into production.

Unforgotten will continue, in series 5, with a new case, and a new 'Partner in Crime' for DI Sunny Khan.

ITV has announced today that critically acclaimed drama, Unforgotten, will return for a fourth series. Produced by Sally Haynes and Laura Mackie’s Mainstreet Pictures, the new series will see BAFTA award nominees Nicola Walker (Last Tango In Halifax, The Split) and Sanjeev Bhaskar (Goodness Gracious Me, Paddington 2) reprise their roles as DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunny Khan as they investigate another emotionally charged and compelling cold case.
