Mr One-liner Mark makes a big first impression, and his wife Debbie is the butt of most of his jokes. Final couple Sam and Paula are particularly taken aback. Day two sees Sam and Paula cook up an experimental menu, which doesn't pay off. Mark reveals his competitive side and Debbie is shocked by the conversation over dessert about 'trumping'. Finally it's Mark and Debbie's turn to play host by pulling out all the stops, including a red carpet. Mark invites his pet dog for dessert with jaw-dropping consequences. However the food is a mixed bag, leaving the competition wide open for the £1000 prize.

In west London, Daniela and Stuart kick off by serving up an Italian spread at their first ever dinner party, but hard-to-please Manisha, with hubby Akshay in tow, doesn't mince her words. It's young duo Josh and Georgie's turn to host on day two and they plan a night of high quality food with a party atmosphere. After a very exclusive first course starts the night off well, they turn on the style with a private party bus and even mild-mannered Akshay is throwing some shapes. Night three and the supremely confident Manisha is sure her fusion menu of Indian and Western food will blow the guests away but they seem to be more entertained by her wedding photos. A few home truths are shared around the table, but will they provide a breath of fresh air or leave a bitter taste in the mouth with a grand on the line?

In Birmingham, married couple Veda and Varun kick off the competition with a Bollywood bash and an Indian-themed menu. Dave, and his retired wife Su, love the food but Su's thumb over Dave doesn't go unnoticed. For engaged pair Rachel and Anna, the food isn't up to scratch. Rachel and Anna aim to impress with their home-cooked favourites on night two. The men in the group feel outnumbered when the women go on the offensive on the subject of present giving. The last night sees Su and Dave throw a mad hatter-style tea party with costumes to suit. Rachel and Anna aren't impressed and believe more effort should have gone into the food, but when the group secretly find another dessert to eat, what will Su say? Will it ruin their chances of winning the grand?

First up in East Lancashire, it's newly engaged Andrew and Sue who offer up a menu of classic tried and tested dishes. Will their strategy work, or will the stress of the occasion get too much? Joining them are laid back Ben and Ruth, and drama lovers Helen and Victoria. Day two sees Ben and prankster Ruth host. Although their breakfast theme intrigues their guests, will it be dinner party standard? Finally, it's the turn of drama teacher Helen, and saleswoman by day, singer by night, Victoria, to show the competition how it's really done. Once the reviews are in, who will claim that thousand pound prize?

Notting Hill residents Queen and Shawn kick off the competition with a menu inspired by their Thai and West Indian heritage. Well-travelled foodies Suzy and Paul are unimpressed with the food. Competitive couple Charlotte and Kevin throw themselves into the evening, but when one of the hosts reveals a dislike of West Londoners, the guests are left stunned. Day two sees sophisticated Suzy and Paul cooking up a fancy French feast, but the food does not go down well with Shawn who sees the evening as pretentious. The hosts' unusual artwork is a talking point. Finally it's fun-loving family couple Charlotte and Kevin's turn. Will their trendy Japanese menu be too pretentious for Shawn? And who will be walking off with a thousand pounds?

We're in Southampton, where Roxi and Glen hope to impress with a menu of restaurant-inspired dishes, but with both guest couples - Russell and Lisa, and tennis-mad Suzy and John - all dreading the cauliflower purÚe in the starter, is their menu sunk before they've even started? Day two and Russell and Lisa's pork starter gets raised eyebrows from John and Suzy while their main of fennel-stuffed salmon is a nightmare for Roxi and Glen. But the food isn't the only issue; will last night's animosity between Lisa and Suzy be forgotten and left at the front door? Finally it's the turn of John and Suzy who hope to transfer their tennis tactics to the kitchen. With expectations high, will they serve up an ace of a menu and walk away with the £1000 prize?

In Nottinghamshire, homemaker Nena, and her accountant husband Vish, kick off the competition with an Indian feast Gym-loving guests Syreeta and Romaine are worried the food will be too spicy, while final couple, Paul and wife Vicki, think the menu is nothing special. Day two sees Syreeta and laid-back Romaine host a fun evening. The post meal planking competition is a hit, but Romaine's romantic crooning hits a bum note in dessert. Finally it's the turn of domesticated Vicki and her kitchen-phobe husband Paul. Will they see off the competition and bag themselves a grand?

In Cheltenham, perfectionist Michelle and her husband, Bryan Adams tribute singer Russell, are the first to host. As the night develops, so does a budding bromance. Day two is Lydia and Calum's turn to host and they hope a rustic theme will bag them the grand. While the food doesn't seem to quite hit the mark, Calum's impromptu am dram performances do. Finally it's Jane and Paul's chance to shine, and they opt for a menu celebrating Jane's favourite things, to mixed reviews from their guests.

The food is a little too healthy and gets mixed reviews especially from foodies Liz and Martin and ladette Sonya and her boyfriend Carl. However the entertainment breaks the ice as they all let loose at the silent disco. Day two sees married couple Liz and Martin cook an Italian feast inspired by recipes from Liz's Italian mother. In Glasgow, confectioner Carly, aka Charlie, and her fiancé bank manager Michael head the competition with their passion for positivity and sweet themed menu. The second day sees Ang and Tom host and while their food does exceed expectations, it's not enough to win over Miss 'High Standards' Irene. Day three and the pressure is on for Irene and Davey to impress with their Scottish fine dining. The evening starts off smoothly, and the guests discover that Davey is a laird, but just as the evening comes to a close, Davey decides to make a confession, which leaves Irene and the rest of the guests gobsmacked.

Loud and proud duo Fay and Wayne kick things off in the Midlands with their comfy country cuisine featuring a beef Wellington main course, and already the competition is on for ditzy couple Sam and Tony who'll be serving the same dish. Day two sees retired lovebirds Rob and Maz hosting with their take on nouveau cuisine. Finally it's Sam and Tony's turn to go all out to dazzle with a glitz and glamour themed soirée, but will it be enough to pocket them the cash?

In East Lancashire, young entrepreneur Ellie and her drama teacher partner Andy kick off the competition with an oriental themed menu. Day two sees stylish couple Jon and his partner Chris lay on a Mediterranean menu with influence from their mothers. Finally Gladys and her hubby Stephen are able to show off their passion for travel with a global menu, but there's a surprise in store for their guests when Stephen makes a revelation about his wife.

In Bedfordshire, Tom and his wife Naomi kick things off with a menu which, like them, is a bit posh, but the food fails to leave an impression. Day two sees Victoria and boyfriend Elliot cook up a massive Caribbean feast featuring a controversial goat curry. On the final night magician Neil and fiancé Charlie plan to wow their guests with a mysterious menu and magical entertainment. Charlie recounts Neil's unconventional marriage proposal, which leaves the guests gagging and the winner is revealed.

First hosts in Essex are complaints investigator Callum and his wife Alison, who have put together a fun filled menu, despite Callum's not so cheery nature. The second day sees Mike and Carol host. There's shock round the table as Carol shares an unexpected story about a fiery feud and there's an outburst over the Essex dialect during dessert. Tony and Coni are last to host with a rustic, hearty theme with three large pies being served for the main. Who will walk away with the grand?

In Manchester, drama producers Henry and Tom are first to host with a traditional British menu featuring two different lamb dishes. However, guest Asia from Poland doesn't like lamb at all while Iranian-born fiancé Shahab can't get enough of it. Things don't improve for Asia as the second dinner party hosted by design-loving Vinnie and Tanz sees three types of lamb! The final day sees Shahab and Asia trying to impress their foodie guests with a globally-inspired menu that divides opinion, and a doomed attempt at some very amateur magic tricks.

Former tour rep Janine and her singing salesman husband Steve begin the competition in West Yorkshire with a German themed menu. They are joined by Michaela and her husband, former pro boxer Denzil, and dinner party newbies Chloe and her fiancé Adam. Day two sees Chloe and Adam host their first ever dinner party and they're dreading Denzil's honest feedback. The final day is Denzil and Michaela's chance to show off their skills. Can they pull it off and bag that grand? Or are they all talk and no action?

In the west of Scotland, married couple Gavin and Johanna start things off with a loosely Italian themed menu. Day two sees Sharyn and David's main course of beef stroganoff failing to live up to its billing. Finally Daljit and Gordon get their turn to impress with their Scottish and Indian fusion menu; but a disaster in the kitchen leaves them high and dry on dessert. Will it ruin their chances of scooping the prize?

Husband and wife of 29 years Dave and Pam kick off the competition in Gloucestershire with a farmhouse menu. Day two sees music company owners Alettia and Stuart cook up a meal with a Mexican twist. Finally it's Jake and Helen's turn to host with their Japanese menu. Round the table Jake is pressured to propose to Helen and to top things off there is a bizarre breakdancing demo. While the guests are entertained, the food is a let-down, leaving the competition wide open for the prize.

In Northampton, dining duo fitness instructor Pam and her boyfriend Glenn kick off the competition with a Spanish fiesta. The food gets a good grilling from their guests, Victoria and boyfriend Delroy, and Wendy and her husband Mark. Day two sees Victoria and Delroy opting for a Caribbean menu. Finally it's the turn of Wendy and Mark to host and things don't go quite to plan. But in the end which couple will be going home with the prize?

The food is a hit and there's a Bollywood dance-off to end the evening. Finally it's the turn of actors Leroy and Hayley to serve up a Caribbean menu full of spice and taste, but there's a mixed reception from the guests. Will it be enough to bag the grand?

First to host in Surrey are competitive American Laura and her English husband James. Laura's hoping to treat her guests to a taste of home by throwing a Tex Mex themed evening. Second couple Sarah and Dan have a special treat in store for their guests that nobody expects. Retired estates manager Edward and his teacher wife Carol are accustomed to hosting dinner parties, so aren't concerned about the competition. With rapping, mono-brows, secret revelations, not to mention some fine food, the competition is wide open with the grand up for grabs.

Red and his partner Bozey kick off the competition in South Wales with a Welsh inspired menu. Day two sees estate agents 'Princess' Trish and her partner Alan cook a glamorous fine dining menu. Alan is a real romantic and he tells his guests just how far he will go to show his love for Trish revealing his tattoos of devotion. Finally, first time hosts fiancÚs Marc and Dan get the chance to entertain with a musical themed feast. They win over their guests with Marc's nana's egg sauce, passed down through generations, but can Marc and Dan walk away with the grand?

Bike restorer Ian and his Lithuanian-born fiancÚe Loretta kick off the competition in Stockport with dishes inspired by their Indian and Lithuanian heritage. Day two sees Gemma and Emily, AKA 'Gemily', attempt to woo their guests with their Moroccan themed menu. Finally it's Tim and Luan's chance to show the other couples how it should be done as they offer up a taste of their favourite dishes. But will Luan's bog roll entertainment go down well? And who will be feeling flush with the ú1000 come the end of the night?

In Bromley, Jo and her discerning foodie partner Alex kick off proceedings with a fine dining menu but the guests are not impressed. Day two sees Ryan and Julie go back to their roots cooking up an Americana menu but the food fails to wow, with Michelle comparing the main course to vomit! Finally it's the turn of Michelle and confident Craig who give their guests a taste of the Caribbean. But who will be walking away with the ú1000 prize?

Day two sees healthy food options from sporty pair Jeavon and Steve, but they're not to everyone's taste. Finally it's Italian Rica's turn with the help of Lynne to cook a hearty high-end meal, but the night kicks off with an awkward air and with their boar main course proving a risky choice, will their chance of winning the grand slip away from them?

In Berkshire, beauty therapist Emma and her boyfriend Sean kick off the week with an OMG night of acronyms, pet names and fine food. Joining them are bickering husband and wife Mel and Tony, with Tony's nostrils experiencing Emma's waxing skills first hand. Watching on in horror are Sarb and his wife Jasbir. Day two sees the experienced partnership of Jasbir and Sarb attempt to wow their guests with a night of authentic Indian food and Bollywood dancing. For the second night in a row, Sean comes under pressure to pop the marriage question to Emma. Finally, it's Mel and Tony's turn to host with a menu filled with traditional British classics. Will their cooking and hosting skills be enough to win them the thousand pounds? Or will their good-natured squabbling scupper their chances?

In Stoke-on-Trent, first up are Rob and Rich who are out to impress with fine dining cuisine. Also coming to dinner is 28-stone Eddie 'The Beast' Hall - Britain's strongest man - with wife Alex. The third couple are sport-loving Simon and wife Lauren who despite being highly competitive, find it difficult to fault the first night's fancy fayre. The next night Eddie reveals his identity, sending Simon into hero-worship mode and spurring him to reveal his nickname which was also 'The Beast' and that he too had won awards for weight lifting. With Alex putting on a fine 'Beast Wellington' the stage is set for the final night where Simon in particular is on a mission to prove himself. He knows he might not be able to out- beast 'The Beast' in strength but Simon does have a few tricks up his sleeve, such as his ability to recite Shakespeare. But by the end of the evening, will Lauren's cooking and Simon's quirky hosting be enough to wrestle the grand away from the others?

In Leeds, giggle monsters Gemma and Ryan kick off the competition with a menu designed to show off their fun side. But will it be up to the high standards of couple Jonathan and Keith? And will music-loving Nigel and Yvonne stop singing long enough to notice the food? Day two sees Jonathan and Keith put on a classic 1970s menu, but will it be too traditional for the younger guests? Finally, it's the turn of lyric-tastic Nigel and Yvonne to try and grab the grand - but will their Yorkshire twist hit a bum note?

Day two sees Rob and Jade put together a Thai-inspired menu, but Mike and Helenor are suspicious of Rob's story of why he loves Thai food. Band frontman Rob tries to claw things back with a good old sing song. Finally, it's the turn of visually impaired Caroline and her easy-going husband Tony. Will the made-from-scratch food be enough to overthrow their rivals and bag them a grand?
