Born in San Francisco, California, Todd Bridges chose an acting career at the age of six, appearing with his entire family in a Jell-O commercial. He debuted in a 1975 episode of Barney Miller, and in the TV movies The Orphan and the Dude, and Katherine. In 1978 he became a household name as Willis Jackson on Diff'rent Strokes. After ending its long run, being unemployable due to being typecast as 'Willis' led to a downward spiral of drug addiction and trouble with authorities - and a pause of nearly ten years in his career. Now clean and sober he has fought successfully to regain his career, while also traveling the nation speaking to high school kids about the dangers of drug abuse.
