Jon Ecker was born in San Marcos, Texas to an American mother and Brazilian actor Guy Ecker. He was raised in Texas and earned a degree in Aquatic Biology from UCSB before moving to Mexico City to pursue acting. Beginning his career in Latin America, Jon moved back to the U.S. in 2014 and began working in the English-language market.
Ecker is known for his roles as Aaron Morales in Popland! (2011), Pablo Peralta in the telenovela Corazón valiente (2012-2013), Nicolás de la Vega in Gossip Girl: Acapulco (2013), Marlon Brando in the film Cantinflas (2014), The Lion in Narcos (2015-2016), Guero Dávilas in Queen of the South (2016-2019), Max in Firefly Lane (2021), Greg Grainger in Chicago Fire (2021), Scott in The Watchful Eye (2023), and Dr. Jake Heller in Fox's medical drama series Doc (2025).
