William Scott "Jack" Elam was an American film and television actor best known for his numerous roles as villain in Western films and, later in his career, comedies (sometimes spoofing his villainous image).
Elam starred as J. D. in the TV series, "The Dakotas." He was a veteran of many TV and motion pictures roles. He drew widespread critical acclaim for his film portrayals of Horseface in "The Comancheros" and of Cheesecake in "Pocketful of Miracles." His other movie credits include "The Last Sunset," "Edge of Eternity " and "The Gun Runners."
