Peter Donat was born Pierre Collingwood Donat in Kentville, Nova Scotia. His uncle was the British actor Robert Donat. He was a stage, screen and television actor with numerous credits but will perhaps be best remembered for his role as as Bill Mulder, Agent Fox Mulder's father in The X-Files. Peter passed away at his home in Point Reyes Station, Calif. from complications of diabetes. He was survived by his wife, 6 children and 11 grandchildren.
