David Yip

David Yip is a British actor, director, writer of Chinese and English descent. Born in Liverpool, one of eight children. His father was a Chinese seaman from the Canton area of southern China, and his mother was from Liverpool. Yip gained prominence through his lead role of Detective Sergeant John Ho in the BBC drama series The Chinese Detective. He trained at E15 Acting School, London in 1973 and since then worked in film, television, theatre, radio and voiceover both in the UK and internationally. He lives with his wife in North Oxfordshire, UK.
