Connie Shi is a queer, mixed Chinese-American actor, filmmaker, and songwriter from Bucks County, PA.
She's the producer of The Looming Cloud premiering at Sundance 2024, the writer, producer, & star of Coming, which premiered at Outfest Fusion 2023, and the co-creator and co-star of New New, which premiered at LA Film Festival in 2021. She served as writer, director, and producer of her latest film, The Rebirth, which is currently in post-production. Her passion is female-led stories that explore vulnerability, identity, and queerness.
She currently plays Detective Violet Yee on "Law & Order" and has recurred on TV shows like HBO's "BETTY" and Netflix's "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt". She was nominated Best Supporting Actress for her role originating Ivy in the off-Broadway play "The Year of the Solar Eclipse", with her song "Broken" winning Best Original Music at the 2018 PCTF Awards. Her original music has also appeared on Gimlet's award-winning podcast Heavyweight, and she recently released her debut EP, Our World.
She is based in Brooklyn, New York.
