Born in Pikeville, Kentucky, Dwight Yoakam first achieved mainstream attention in 1980s with the release of his debut album Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.. In the 1990s he turned his attention to the big screen with notable 'bad guy' roles in both Sling Blade and Panic Room. He continues to produce and write albums and songs, and to act in both television and film.
