'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' Canceled at the CW

“DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” has been canceled at the CW after seven seasons, Variety has confirmed. Co-showrunner and executive producer Keto Shimizu confirmed the news on Twitter Friday evening, writing: “Well, folks. It’s been an incredible run. However, the CW has let us know that there will be no Season 8 of #LegendsOfTomorrow. We are heartbroken, but also immensely grateful for the amazing work our cast, crew and writers have contributed to the little show that could.”

agree that they kept it on to long, became worse than a comic book serial after 2nd or 3rd season, definitely not of DC caliber

Shoulda been 3.

By the end of third season it had become so insipid I just couldn't follow. I liked it at first. All good actors and characters. The Marvel mini series writing and plots and dialogue and acting all seem to be pointed squarely at the adult demo. While every addition to "Arrowverse" skewed more and more from early High School sensibilities to presently pretty much Middle School. What the heck. When I was in Middle school I loved Batman with Adam West and Burt Ward. But... I was 10.

Perhaps CW could sell Arrowverse to the Cartoon Network to continue there on Saturday Mornings or whenever the kids are eating cereal watching cartoons now?

I thought the premise had an insane amount of potential, a team including active career criminals, and an assassin with "blood rage" formed for the sole purpose of hunting down and exterminating someone. Sadly, they never went dark enough to effectively take advantage of said potential. Probably would have worked on AMC.

I cannot honestly believe that the CW decided to axe the show after 7 seasons. I did have my suspicions but I had hoped that it wouldn't come to that. After the cancellation of Batwoman and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, the Arrowverse is critically shrinking. I'm afraid Naomi will get the axe too. It's really sad. Thank you, Kevin, for the info though!
