We begin the episode in STORYBROOKE, in Mr. Gold’s Pawn Shop, where GOLD is giving BELLE a gift. He opens a small box to reveal a necklace, and Belle is clearly moved by the gift and its beauty. As Gold puts the necklace on her, Belle asks him what’s the occasion? He tells her the occasion is “Us.” He concedes they haven’t gotten out much, and he wants to see Storybrooke with her, though he warns her that the town’s nightlife is pretty limited.
