A woman, Ellen, is driving through the night along a mountain road in Oregon. She passes a sign warning no gas or services for the next 75 miles, and is adjusting her radio when she comes to an abandoned car on the road. Ellen hits the brakes but still hits the car and skids to a halt. In the past, Ellen and her husband-to-be Bruce are having lunch at an eatery.
