Fearful history could repeat itself, Maggie goes on holiday with Gina to evaluate her marriage. Back in Aidensfield, a series of arson attacks take a deadly turn when a cottage is torched with a baby trapped inside, setting in motion a tragic chain of events that rocks the residents of Aidensfield and tears one villager's life apart. Meanwhile, Greengrass buys an old railway carriage and turns it into a holiday cottage for paying tourists.
