Fire officials said that for the first time since the wildfire emergency began eight days ago in Southern California, there has been no significant growth in the fires. As winds diminished, more progress was reported in containing the two biggest fires. Displaced families began sending their children back to school, with some attending new schools because of fire damage. NBC News' Morgan Chesky reports. After more than 15 months of war, Israel and Hamas have agreed to a deal to end the fighting in Gaza, free almost 100 hostages still held by Hamas and hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in Israel. President Biden said the agreement will take effect on Sunday and would be carried out in three phases, with Hamas releasing 33 hostages in the first phase. NBC News' Richard Engel reports on the agreement and reaction in Israel and Gaza. A Southwest Airlines pilot was arrested and accused of driving under the influence before he boarded a flight he was supposed to fly. Southwest said he's been removed from duty. And the Transportation Department sued Southwest for operating "chronically delayed flights" on some routes. Southwest said it was disappointed in the suit, saying it completed 99 percent of its flights without cancellations. NBC News' Tom Costello reports. The FDA said it will ban Red Dye No. 3, a substance that colors many products but has been shown in studies to cause cancer in rats. Food manufactures will have two years to remove the substance from their products. NBC News' Anne Thompson reports.
