The race for the White House has entered a new phase after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suspended his long-shot bid for the presidency and joined forces with former President Donald Trump. It comes one day after Vice President Kamala Harris accepted the Democratic nomination for president. Caitlin Huey-Burns reports from the campaign trail. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. threw his support Friday behind former President Donald Trump, the GOP presidential nominee, saying in remarks in Phoenix that he was endorsing Trump because he saw no viable path to the White House. CBS News has learned that multiple Secret Service agents have been placed on leave amid the investigation into last month's attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
