I like Ritter too which is why I watched the pilot but this show is still unwatchable.

Watched the first 3 episodes. This show isn't very good, I don't think I'm going to keep watching.

I don't know why someone has updated the listing for this show to say it's "in development", and will premiere in June 2024, when it aired in Australia back in November of 2023. All the episode reviews posted here months ago should be a clue that the show is not still "in development". The US isn't the only TV market in the world, and just because they're lagging behind with this show doesn't change the facts. So to be clear, the American premiere of this 2023 show is in June of 2024. If you already saw it in Australia, or on some pirate feed, there's no need to tune in again, unless you just want to see Krysten Ritter covered in pink goo  again.

Looks like back a few years, early development for this orig Canadian show was at AMC Studios. The show has an Alternate list for Australia on Stan - so it's reversed.  I'm guessing there was a dearth of press releases. AMC is flakey (IMHO)

I watched the whole thing despite it not being great, the comment was after the first episode. It wasn't terrible, but just ok... the tie in to the original series is practically nonexistent. The fact that they tease that Cosima will show up soon, but then she fails to show up was ridiculous. Like I said, they could have called it anything else and it would stand on its own, so I feel they kind of duped me by calling it Orphan Black to get viewers but then its barely related. Which doesn't mean it won't get renewed, I bet it does.

Other annoying aspects: The Coca Cola commercials in the first and second episodes, they keep mentioning someone drinking a Coke, it was definitely a paid in-episode commercial. -- The lack of the word Clone, they avoid it constantly using Print Out instead. Just kinda dumb. -- The timeline jumping around was ok for me, I have watched a lot of sci-fi, but I bet most people would be confused. -- The utter lack of security personel at billion dollar secure facilities. Sure, I built a 43 billion dollar dna storage facility but I put a key fob lock on the door so no need to have security guards. Again, just kinda dumb.

I was referring to the end of the pilot. That's all I had watched so far. I just saw Ep 2 and they added Felix and more references to Sarah and Cosima but, the only tie-in to the original series, at this point, seems to be that a main character is the offspring of a clone. I mean beyond the creator and writers, production people, etc. A "print out" made with biologic material wouldn't be the same as a clone which would be grown from a sample of DNA. I'm not scientist but, I can't imagine how printing a 3D image, even with human tissue, would be able to come to life out of a vat full of goo. They didn't even have a tower for lightning to strike!

I thought that was incredible good fortune that Lucy was able to walk right into that office while the guard needed a key card to get in. Attention to detail, continuity and congruity seems to be a lost commodity these days, not only in TV production but, in everything from media to manufacturing to customer service to... well, everything else.

Orphan Black was kinda going off the rails towards the end if I remember right. I'm still good for another couple of episodes of Echos. They have more of a claim to following up the original series than some other shows but, yeah, they are just trying to capitalize off the name recognition.

A realistic future environment is pretty hard to construct but I agree when it comes to electronic devices, vehicles, etc. You just have to accept it for what it is.

You must not have made it to the end. Kira is evidently Sarah Manning's daughter. I'm sure they'll develop that more as we go.

It's intriguing. I'm in... at least for a couple of more episodes.

So boring and futurism are rather lame. In 2052 they still have cell phones that look exactly like its 2013. Hopefully it gets better. Good thing they cast Ritter in it as she is the only reason I'm watching. Appears to have nothing to do with Orphan Black, they could have called it anything else.
