Growing-up in East Austin, Texas--Virgil Riley Runnels, Jr. always had an outsized vision of the possibilities for himself. An innate ability to navigate loss and create opportunity set him on a path to discovering- or actually becoming--The American Dream. As the most relatable and charismatic wrestler of all-time, he earned titles and the adoration of a diverse fan base. His iconic rivalry and promos with Ric Flair set the path for an entire industry and as a booker/producer he created many of the wrestling events still happening today including War Games, Starrcade and The Great American Bash. For Dusty, the traditional trade-offs of fame over family were never acceptable and for the first time-ever, Dusty Rhodes' four children collaborate to tell the story of their father. It's their story that suggests Dusty's most significant accomplishment had nothing to do with wrestling.
