In the Louisiana bayou, a girl, Diane Martin, runs for her life. Hunters and dogs chase her down, and the girl comes to a river. Diane starts swimming across, and alligators kill both of the pursuing dogs. The girl emerges on the shore on the other side, only to find Pepper Leveau waiting. Diane begs Pepper not to hurt her, and Pepper gestures to where Jake Morgan is pulling up in his limo.
