In 1972, Annie Gréco, the first woman appointed police commissioner in France, took up her duties in general disbelief at the Lille police station. As soon as she arrives, she must go to a crime scene. Actor Richard Planck was indeed found dead in his trailer, on the set of his new feature film. The main suspect is none other than the young star of the film, Anna Delange, who had a stormy romantic relationship with Richard. Gréco recruits the worst hothead of the police station, Inspector Max Beretta, as his deputy.
