Auggie Salazar

During her time at Oxford, Auggie quit Vera's course and switched to applied science. Now the founder and chief scientific officer of her own nanotech company (The Nanotechnology Research Centre), she designs self-assembling, synthetic polymer nanofibers and manufactures them for a variety of potential energy and materials applications. She wants to use science to build something that can improve people's lives because she saw her mother's family suffer without any help. She and Jin have been best friends for years, even living together during their time as PhD students. Auggie and Saul have an on-again, off-again romance, and although she finds him immature at times, she trusts him and is more vulnerable with him than with anyone else. A trailblazer in her field and on the cusp of making history with her nanofibers, Auggie's terrified when she suddenly starts seeing a countdown timer in her field of vision that she can't understand or explain.
