Stunning, athletic and highly intelligent, Mel is a "genetically enhanced" cadet from the Genetic Space Program who is hand-chosen as D'Branin's first officer aboard the Nightflyer mission. She is fiercely loyal to D'Branin but finds competition for her loyalties when she captures the eye of Eris.
