Maureen Lawson is a strong willed, hardworking lesbian detective, who sometimes lets her personal judgement get in the way of a decent result. She left divisional CID in 1994 after becoming too involved with one of the cases she was working on, but returns to help Frost investigate the murder of a local businessman.
