Malachy Doyle is a no-nonsense PI. While the rock of the Doyle family has a soft side, Mal is not one to be messed with when it comes to his family. He is a former police officer and the father of Christian, Kathleen, and Jake Doyle; he is also the grandfather of Tinny Doyle. His first wife, Mary Ann, died of cancer when Jake was young. He married his girlfriend, Rose Miller.
