Murray Slaughter

Murray is the senior Writer for WJM-TV News and is bald, and became the victim of many bald jokes by Sue Ann. Murray himself was capable of wise cracks, usually hurled at Ted. Murray speaks in a Northern accent, similar to actor Arnold Stang. He is the only character that is happily married with a large family, although they are all daughters. He adopted a son of Oriental descent, and the two bonded quickly. His desk is located immediately between the wall containing the front doors, chalkboard, bulletin board, and whiteboard; and Mary's desk. He has a television set that is tuned to the newscasts and hands breaking news to Ted when he gets the information from the teleprinters sitting behind him.
