The final season of "Snowpiercer" has finally found a home. The fourth season of the sci-fi drama will air on AMC after the company acquired the rights to the Tomorrow Studios-produced series. It comes after TNT scrapped the show in 2023 as part of a wider Warner Bros. Discovery content write down strategy. The first three seasons of the show will stream on AMC+ later in 2024 and season 4 will air on the linear network and the streaming service in early 2025.

"Snowpiercer", the only remaining original scripted series on TNT, is done on the Warner Bros. Discovery network. The post-apocalyptic drama's completed fourth and final season will not run on the basic cable network as previously announced. The move is believed to be part of the tax write-offs for content at WBD. Tomorrow Studios, the studio behind it, is currently shopping the new season, along with potential prequel and sequel.

LOS ANGELES, April 2, 2020 – TNT announced today that, in an effort to give viewers more compelling original content at a faster pace, the network is moving its highly anticipated post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller up to Sunday, May 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

“We’ve had the unique opportunity to more thoroughly test and explore where this show will best perform. While we are still adding dramas to TBS… after further research and consideration we’ve decided to keep Snowpiercer on TNT,” said network president Kevin Reilly. “Now that we’ve seen this incredible post-apocalyptic sci-fi series in its entirety, and better understand the audience this show will appeal to, we’re confident it will perform strongest on TNT.”

TBS, known for its comedy lineup, is making its first foray into drama programming, beginning with the high-profile post-apocalyptic sci-fi series Snowpiercer. Ahead of the Season 1 premiere, WarnerMedia has given an early second season renewal to the series, starring Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs, which will move from its current home on TNT to TBS. The first season of Snowpiercer is now slated to debut in spring of 2020.
