Vincent "Rocco" Vargas is an American veteran, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, actor, podcaster, singer, producer, writer and director.
He was born on July 15, 1981 in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California. Vargas enlisted in the United States Army (2003-2015) and went on to serve 3 combat deployments with the 2nd Ranger Battalion of the elite 75th Ranger Regiment. He also served as an infantry Drill Sergeant. He then left active duty and entered the reserves with the rank of Sergeant First Class.
In 2009 he became a Federal Agent with the Department of Homeland Security, and was a Medic with the Special Operations Group of the Arizona Department of Corrections. He later joined the U.S. Border Patrol but left in 2013 to pursue a career as an entertainer in film and television.
Vargas is best known for his role of Gilberto "Gilly" Lopez in FX's hit series Mayans M.C. (2018-2023). He is also known for Helen Keller vs. Nightwolves (2015), Range 15 (2016), The Long Way Back (2016), Living for the Ones Who Can't (2016), Dads in Parks (2016-2017), Not a War Story (2017), Dark of Light (2017), Drinkin' Bros Live: The Shaved Eagle Tour (2017), Brothers in Arms (2018), The PayBack (2019), Struggle Jennings and Trap DeVille's music video Over Nothin' (2019), Lucy Shimmers and the Prince of Peace (2020), The Shoebox (2022), and Above Ground (2022). He is also known for the Vinny Roc Podcast.
