CBS announced renewals last week for Fire Country and Ghosts, which is not really a surprise for either show. It will be interesting to see if Fire Country remains on Friday nights next season, as SWAT and Blue Bloods have both been cancelled. This might be a chance for the network to retool its Friday night schedule. Speaking of Friday nights, NCAA March Madness starts Tuesday, so the Friday night line-up will be preempted for primetime basketball in the coming weeks. FBI returned after a week off, up almost a million viewers. FBI: International was down three hundred thousand viewers, but FBI: Most Wanted found them again, picking up three hundred thousand viewers.

ABC execs had probably hoped for a big bounce in Oscar ratings thanks to more mainstream movies garnering nominations. Alas, it was not to be. Ratings were down two tenths from the 2023 awards, though half a million additional viewers did tune in.  9-1-1 premiered on its new network last week. As expected, the show made gains in both ratings and viewers with the move to the larger network. Grey's Anatomy picked up six hundred thousand viewers for its premiere. Station 19 opened its final season down a million viewers.

NBC had a quiet week. The Law & Order shows returned after a week off. Law & Order and Law & Order: Organised Crime picked up two hundred thousand viewers. Law & Order: SVU was even. The three Law & Orders and the three One Chicago shows should all be renewed. The only question is, will they pick up multi-year deals again. Night Court was up two hundred thousand viewers. Extended Family was up three hundred thousand viewers. Night Court will definitely be renewed. Extended Family will probably be renewed. Deal No Deal Island was also up three hundred thousand viewers.

FOX did a little shuffling of the Sunday night animation block. It's hard to say how successful it was, considering the Oscars were airing on another network at the same time and sucking up most of the viewing interest. The Great North was up one hundred thousand viewers. Grimsburg was even. Family Guy was down another two hundred thousand viewers on its new night.

They do! And this year, there were even movies mainstream moviegoers had heard of and watched! Didn't get them a Swiftie-bumped Grammy's sort of numbers though.
