Legacy List with Matt Paxton - Episode Guide

The team heads to Richmond, Virginia where Anne Manley is in the middle of downsizing and moving to Jacksonville, Florida to be closer to her parents. The problem is she has just 24 hours before the movers arrive to pack it all up. Matt and his team need to find her most cherished items before they get lost in the shuffle of the big move. The Legacy List team has their marching orders.

Lenis Northmore of Newark, Delaware has a home packed with rare and exotic collectibles. But finding them in a 6,000 square foot house is like finding needles in a haystack. A Chinese jade scepter head, a 120-year-old American flag and a hand-carved canoe prow from New Guinea are just a few of the things hiding in her mid-19th century home.

Matt and his team travel to nearby Mechanicsville, Virginia to help an elderly couple downsize into a smaller home. Their clients are Johnny and Lillian Lambert who are well known in the area. Johnny's family has run a successful catering company in Richmond for years and Lillian is the first African American woman to graduate Harvard Business School.

Julie Day and her daughter Cindy have a huge task in front of them… downsize and pack up their New Jersey home, trying not to trample on their rich family history in the process. Matt and the team will sort through centuries of family treasures and antiques to find that handful of items worthy of passing on to the next generation.

When Steve Seidel Senior of Norristown, Pennsylvania passed away, he left his two adult children a 300-year-old farmhouse full of beer memorabilia and countless other pop culture items. The task of cleaning out the house and barn before selling the property was overwhelming, so the kids turned to Matt and his team to help them to locate items that will keep the memory of their dad alive.

Retired schoolteacher Shirley Macon of Aberdeen, New Jersey is downsizing and moving to Atlanta, Georgia to be closer to her daughters. She's lived in her current house for over fifty years and the transition is going to be an emotional one. Her home is filled with pictures, plaques, artwork and memorabilia that celebrate not only her family but her African American culture.

Libby & her husband Nick live at Rockland Farm, a historic Virginia manor house that has been in her family for seven generations. Maintaining the 200-acre property is getting to be too much, but before they decide what to do next, they need to clear out the basement & attic and downsize. Matt and his team help them go through a home filled with family heirlooms, rare artwork, artifacts and more.

As librarians, Linda and Eric are extremely organized, but even they're challenged when they must pack up a house filled with family memories and move into an apartment half the size. Matt and the team help them locate cherished items like a samurai sword, an old camera, and a restrictive housing covenant. They even locate a long-lost bracelet worn by one of Linda's relatives who was enslaved at the Appomattox Courthouse farmhouse where Lee surrendered to Grant.

When Chris's father passes away, he becomes the owner of two storage lockers filled with family history that dates back hundreds of years. Matt helps the couple sort through the items that include everything from a gold-tipped walking cane to an early prototype of a personal computer. The goal is to find a home for some of the more interesting artifacts that will keep the family legacy alive.

Michel's family used to own one of the area's most popular Mexican restaurants. Now the empty nesters are contemplating moving out of their home filled with mementos from the restaurant and countless other items that celebrate Michel's Mexican heritage. They enlist Matt's help to sort out the treasure and along the way find items that tell the story of their family's colorful past.

David needs help turning his late father's farmhouse and barn into a museum that celebrates his dad's work as an artist. Matt and the team roll up their sleeves and dig through the collection, finding not only artwork but also cherished personal items. David is in for a surprise when Matt tells him they even found Salvador Dali paintings he didn't know he had.  

Crystal is a retired teacher living alone in a big house that is filled with family heirlooms and history. When the number of belongings gets to be too much, she calls Matt for help. Together they sort through items that shed light on her family's impressive legacy. Her father was a reporter and activist. One of her uncles was a famous musician and another a preacher who knew Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The big surprise? An autographed picture of Jackie Robinson that brings Crystal to tears.

Annemarie's father was an avid collector, and when he died, he left behind an assortment of historical artifacts, fossils and other oddities. Matt and his team help her dig through a basement full of boxes, hoping to find both valuable items and cherished family heirlooms. Things get emotional when Annmarie is joined by her mother and daughters to go through the collection one last time.

Bess is a single mother of two whose family has lived in the area for seven generations. Her farmhouse is filled with antiques, vintage furniture and artwork. She also has a barn with old whaling equipment and even more family heirlooms. Anxious to downsize, she calls Matt and his team for help. They clear out the collections and find an assortment of historical artifacts that Bess never knew she had.

Leila and Don are lifelong New Yorkers selling their unique home in Queens and moving to the Hudson Valley. Before they can put their house on the market, they'll need Matt's assistance finding misplaced heirlooms that range from a piece of tile from Ellis Island to a radio from the 1939 World's Fair. Looking for these lost items puts Matt and his team in a New York state of mind.  

Rebecca and Brian have converted a historic 10,000 square foot elementary school near Charlottesville, Virginia, into a multi-generational home filled with artwork and oddities. Matt and the team help them downsize to make room for an aging parent. Along the way, the team is inspired by the couple's self-sufficient, forward-thinking approach to family living. 

Zebulon's family proudly lived in their Boston home for over 30 years. Now, with family members spread out in different cities, they're faced with the challenge of finding a new home where their mom can age successfully. Matt and his team help with the emotional clean out, coming across a special find that helps Zebulon reconnect with his recently deceased father in a powerful way. 

Nick is proud of the sprawling 5,000 square foot Virginia Beach home he built with his own hands. Over the decades, he and his wife Wendy lovingly filled it with an eclectic mix of collectibles ranging from oil lamps to antique car hood ornaments. Now they need Matt's help downsizing and getting the property ready for sale so they can move into their dream condo on the beach.

As a professional basketball coach, Jim Cleamons has lived a nomad's life. He and his family have moved over a dozen times in the last 25 years but are finally ready to settle down in Columbus, Ohio. Matt and his team help them go through boxes of memories, finding long-lost family keepsakes and one-of-a-kind sports memorabilia.

When Pittsburgh natives Linda and Terry married two years ago, each had an impressive collection of family heirlooms and historical artifacts. But they soon found that their new home didn't have space for all their stuff. With their attic filled and workroom cluttered, they call on Matt and his team to help them downsize and explore new ways to display their treasures.

Norma's family has lived in the same West Texas farmhouse for over 100 years. It's filled with cherished antiques and loads of family memories, but Norma hasn't touched a thing since her mother passed away a few years ago. Matt and the team help the family clear out the clutter and the emotions as they say goodbye to the past and hello to their future farm. 

The Taos, New Mexico adobe where Marcia's grandparents once lived has sat empty for years. The outside is weathered and heirlooms and antiques inside have gone untouched. Now Marcia — an attorney who was the first Mexican-American woman to graduate from Princeton — and her family want to make the historic adobe livable again. They call on Matt and his team to help preserve their family legacy.
