Interesting combination of flavors! But a note - the "couscous" she used is NOT the real or traditional type of couscous, but a special "toasted pasta" created by Israelis when Jews from all over the world were flooding into the re-constituted Israel. Why? Because many countries were boycotting Israel and food was in short supply. So, Prime Minister David Ben Gurion challenged "Osem", an Israeli food producer, to create something that was easy to make and that the whole family would enjoy... And "walla" (that's Israeli for voila!) Israeli Couscous was born! Israelis and people all over the world are still enjoying it today.. Oh, and by the way, Wednesday 26 April is the 75th Birthday of the Modern State of Israel... as we say, "3000 Years Old and 75 Years Young".
