Dublin Murders

Set during the height of the Celtic Tiger financial boom of the millennium, Dublin Murders is focused on two murder investigations led by ambitious and charismatic Detectives Rob Reilly and Cassie Maddox. The victims - a young talented ballerina who is found dead on an ancient stone altar; and a vivacious free-spirited woman, who is found stabbed in a roofless famine cottage - are seemingly unrelated, but as we will discover, are actually knitted together by powerful shared themes - the macabre ‘red in tooth and claw' elements of both stories, and their heart-thumping psychological thriller qualities.

Well, it's May 2023, three & a half years later and still can find nothing about a season 2. Folks on various forums sounded as if there would have to be one. Starz and BBC streaming web pages called it "an eight-part mystery series" as if that's all. Granted, Brit shows are often like that, then years later sort of resureected. There are four more novels in the Dublin Murder Squad series, all published before 2016, but from wikipedia, they don't include Cassie or Rob. I consider this show finished & glad I never started it in the first place. :)

First of all, the story of Katy's murder was brilliantly solved. But in the end, I feel that this series would have worked much better as a limited series, without leaving any loose ends.Obviously there's going to be a second season with all the questions they left unanswered (or at least that's the intention of the creators).

Also, In the general aspect of the season, what was the point of the whole Cassie and Daniel storyline if in the end it had absolutely no relation with any of the 2 main mysteries?.
