The series follows the police investigation and legal proceedings, all the while examining the criminal justice system and the purgatory of Rikers Island, where the accused awaits his trial.

Surreal, nightmarish and brilliant pilot ep. After Nightcrawler, Riz Ahmed is car-bound yet again and solid in the lead. Story totally draws you in. Two thumbs up !
Magnificent show in every single way. Can't recommend this one enough, they simply did a stunning job with it. Kudos to every part of "The Night Of"-team. Looking so much forward to the second season ;)
