Akin to TV Tokyo's Folktales from Japan, Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories takes a narrative format to explore the rich occult history from Japan, moreover, the storytelling techniques in this brand new series will mimic kamishibai – a traditional storytelling technique inspired by the artistic usage of paper figures and scrolls. "Yamishibai is a picture-story style of animation whose motif is surrounded and based off the rumors, and urban legends throughout the history of Japan".

So psyched that this little japanese gem of a show is back for a 7th run. Was actually convinced that they stopped production at the end of season 6. Check it out if you're into short horror stories/tales of the macabre done the old school way ! Highly recommended

Now this is great ! Fresh, inventive and modern take on classic japanese ghost stories/urban legends based on myth/folklore. The use of the whole kamishibai method makes it all the more unique ! Highly recommended ! They should have kept the opening credits from Season 1 and 2 throughout the whole series though. Personal favorites of mine include 'The next floor', ' Tormentor', 'Contradiction', 'Video', 'Ominie San', 'Museum of Taxidermy' , 'Night Bus' and 'The Fourth Man'. Big shout-out to ILCA for producing it ! You guys rock !
