Born in Findlay, Ohio, Gavin Creel graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance in 1998. He began his professional career in 1997 as part of the resident cast of Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera. After graduation he did the North American tour as Nick Piazza in Fame. His early television credits begin in 2003, playing the role of Bill alongside Julie Andrews in Eloise at the Plaza, and Eloise at Christmastime.
