Episode Discussion

Update: I watched all 6 episodes. It was ok. I'm sure the book its based on was better (like always). I think they tried to follow the book too closely. They could have easily made this into a multi-season show if the pacing was faster at the first episode and slower for all the rest of the episodes. Its not much of a spoiler to say that the plot jumps ahead and skips huge swaths of time. Like others have mentioned, what happened? Where did those people come from? There are so many stories that could have been told, I think it was a missed opportunity to skip ahead so often. Oh well, it is what it is. There are definitely good parts. I doubt there will be a season 2, but that would actually be a good show, showing how civilization recovers and tries not to make the same mistakes.

I really like this show. If the "failures of writers" were corrected then the show would have to be 2 hours long instead of one. If you don't like the show, then don't watch it.

If shit-story writing had a name, it would be this!!

We have had enough survival movies/shows that we know the drill. We don't need to see a person siphon for gas or stockpile cans of food. He clearly kept on driving and he didn't starve, we don't have to hold the viewers hand all the time to know what's happening. The same goes for the ACD, do you really need to see him feed it, to know it has been fed?

Glad to hear that you speak for everybody but me! It's a TV show and there's no shortage of time. All those details are important. They show character and thought processes.

Very slow. We've all seen this show 10 times, it was too slowly paced. Hoping it gets better. The guy being an idiot is annoying.

"We have had enough survival movies/shows..." Exactly my point that's why we really don't need to make and see this type of movie/shows since we basically already know the drill.

Interesting storyline so far. But here are some remarks on failures of the writers:

Wow! I wish I had his SUV! He drove a thousand + miles on the partial tankful he had at the cabin. Then he drove, at speeds reaching 120 mph  for miles, and has yet to look for a gas station. The first thing he goes for is guns, not  food. He pics up a stray dog and hasn't fed it  yet

You nailed it. Sick and tired of this Hollyweird hogwash.
