Ratings Roundup for the Week of April 17, 2022

ABC renewed The Goldbergs for a tenth season last week, though the network was mum on how the show will deal with Jeff Garlin's character. Black-ish wrapped after eight seasons last week. The finale had even ratings but managed to pull in an additional three hundred thousand viewers for its finale. The Wonder Years lost another hundred thousand viewers last week. What started as a pretty solid comedy for the network fell steadily after the holiday break. It will likely still be renewed, but the show will have some serious work to do or it won't see a season three.

CBS wrapped the first season of Ghosts last week. The comedy was a bright spot in an otherwise ho-hum freshman slate of shows ratings-wise. The finale found two hundred thousand more viewers over the previous week. How We Roll dropped a ratings tenth but managed to keep its audience. It might squeak a renewal. Beyond the Edge was even while Come Dance With Me managed to pick up a hundred thousand viewers. Even for reality shows, that's not good. Chances are both shows will be cancelled.

NBC saw This Is Us return to the top spot on the rating chart for the first time in a long time. The drama picked up one hundred thousand viewers and a ratings tenth from the previous week. American Song Contest scraped up an additional hundred thousand viewers from the previous week. That won't be nearly enough to keep it on the air for another season, though. The Endgame was even but its chances of renewal are pretty slim at this point. Enjoy what's left. Young Rock lost a ratings tenth and four hundred thousand viewers last week. Mr Mayor picked up one hundred thousand viewers. NBC's comedies, in general, have not done well this season so renewal for either show will depend on luck as much as numbers.

FOX watched The Masked Singer sink to a new low last week, even before the controversial reveal. The competition show lost a ratings tenth and two hundred thousand viewers. Domino Masters was even, but not great. Name That Tune was down for both ratings and viewers. FOX is not doing well with its Spring reality shows this season. Call Me Kat was up two hundred thousand viewers, though its rating was even. Welcome to Flatch was up one hundred thousand viewers which won't matter as the show is likely done.

Abbott Elementary was renewed before its final episode, yes. What ABC is running now are reruns on a different night and the renewal notes aren't there.

Blue Bloods was renewed a few days ago and will be mentioned in this week's article (as will the cancellation of Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow)

Thank you for taking the time to explain! Greatly appreciated! :)
